Falls are a major cause of disability for people aged over 75 within the U.K. Although most falls do not result in serious injury, the consequences can have serious affects on an individual’s health. A fear of falling and a loss of confidence can lead to a loss of mobility leading to social isolation, low mood and an increased dependency on others.
At Pro-Physio Health we undertake a thorough assessment and formulate specific preventive programmes based on the individual’s specific risk factors for falling. Programmes will include gait re-education and strengthening exercises, education programmes and environmental modification in homes to help restore confidence and independence. |
